The South Island
Hughly popular map for schools and anyone interested in NZ history. On the front we have the vegetation and maori geographical references, and on the back a full index of Maori place names and reference points.
This map came about due to the lack of funding back in 1941 when a geographical atlas was being put together, then the information was stored in the Turnbll Library. With the participation of the Department of Lands and Survey, we have this great resource to hang on our walls!
