The Mekong Delta (Vietnamese: đồng bằng sông Cửu Long "Nine Dragon river delta") is the region in southwestern Vietnam where the Mekong River approaches and empties into the sea through a network of distributaries. The Mekong delta region encompasses a large portion of southeastern Vietnam of 39,000 km² . The area covered by water depends on the season.
ITMB is pleased to release the 2nd edition of their Mekong map, developed following the detailed trip Lan and Jack took through the 'nine mouths' region of Vietnam. They have prepared the first-ever published sectional map of the southern third of Vietnam on one side, and a detailed delta map on the other. This map will be perfect for bicyclists, tourists, and adventurers exploring such fascinating corners as the beaches of Nha Trang, the beautiful hill resort town of Dalat, and the interior city of Pleiku. The map also includes a good inset map of Hue and region, which will have to do until we complete our forthcoming map of Hue and Central Vietnam sometime later this year.
